Kane Brown is giving fans a candid — and funny — look inside his household. During a recent appearance on The Pete and Sebastian Show, the country star revealed that when it comes to discipline at home, it’s not just the kids who get corrected.
“I discipline the kids, my wife disciplines me,” Brown said with a laugh, admitting that his wife, Katelyn, is often the one keeping everyone — including him — in line. “She’s the boss,” he joked, adding that she has a natural way of bringing balance and calm to their family life.
The playful confession quickly turned heartfelt as Brown spoke about the strong partnership he shares with Katelyn, both as parents and as a couple. The two first met through mutual friends in 2016 at a music industry event. Interestingly, they were supposed to meet a year earlier when Katelyn was filming a music video that Brown was set to appear in, but he had to cancel due to a show. Fate, however, had other plans.
After finally meeting, Brown messaged Katelyn on Instagram — and sparks flew instantly. “It takes time to let people in,” he once said, “but she was literally the sweetest human being on earth.” Their first date left a lasting impression, and according to Brown, Katelyn told her friend right after that she was “going to marry this guy.”
Fast forward to today, and the couple shares three children — Kingsley Rose, Kodi Jane, and their newest addition, Krewe Allen. Together, they’ve built a close-knit family life that Brown says is his greatest achievement.
“I would say my big success is my family,” Brown reflected. “I never really had that growing up. I’m still learning as a dad. For me, at first, being a dad meant just being there for my kids — because I never had that. And then Kate came in, and she had a big, close family. She’s taught me so much.”
Brown went on to describe how Katelyn’s traditions have transformed his view of family life. “She’s like, ‘Let’s have breakfast and open the toys together.’ It takes hours, but it’s a big Christmas — and that’s the stuff that makes me happy at the end of the day.”
