In addition to sharing family moments, Kane also opened up about his long-awaited new album, which is finished and slated for release later this year. During a recent interview with Billboard, Kane revealed that his wife will feature on a duet, adding a personal and intimate touch to the project. The song, titled “Mad At This World,” has been teased for years, and fans are excited to hear the couple perform together.
“She was a pop singer and she put singing on hold when we had the baby,” Kane explained. “We’ve been talking about doing a song together, and then we just heard this song come in that was perfect for us.” He described Katelyn as his “secret weapon,” emphasizing how her talent adds depth to the album.
Kane also shared that the duet reflects their love story and personal journey. “We just kind of wrote a song about our background, about how we connected, how we met,” he said. He penned his verse, while other writers contributed the chorus. Once Katelyn heard the song, she loved it immediately, making it a natural choice for the duo.
The upcoming album will feature other hits from Kane, including “One Mississippi” and his latest single, “Leave You Alone.” This project follows his EP Mixtape Vol. 1, which was released in August 2021 and included hits like “Cool Again,” “Worldwide Beautiful,” and “Be Like That” featuring Khalid and Swae Lee.
