Brown, 32, recently revealed he’s set to make his feature film debut in the romantic comedy The Token Groomsman, starring alongside actor Taylor Lautner. In the movie — currently in pre-production — Brown plays Neil, the best friend of Lautner’s character, who finds himself entangled in a destination wedding getaway in Italy. Filming is expected to begin later this year overseas. Brown and Lautner are already close friends in real life, which the singer says should make their on-screen chemistry natural and fun.

Though this is his first major film role, the country hitmaker previously appeared on the CBS drama Fire Country and says he loves the creative challenge of acting. He and his wife Katelyn Brown are executive producers on the upcoming Lifetime holiday film Thank God: Christmas at Keller Ranch, inspired by their hit duet “Thank God.” That project honors the song’s narrative of love and gratitude, reinforcing Brown’s artistic reach outside of touring and recording.
