Kane Brown on Filming a Movie With Taylor Lautner, His Lamborghini Purchase, & a New Song

Country star Kane Brown is expanding his career beyond music in exciting new ways in 2026 — from stepping into film to treating himself with some high-end rides, all while gearing up for fresh musical releases.

Brown, 32, recently revealed he’s set to make his feature film debut in the romantic comedy The Token Groomsman, starring alongside actor Taylor Lautner. In the movie — currently in pre-production — Brown plays Neil, the best friend of Lautner’s character, who finds himself entangled in a destination wedding getaway in Italy. Filming is expected to begin later this year overseas. Brown and Lautner are already close friends in real life, which the singer says should make their on-screen chemistry natural and fun.

In interviews, Brown’s enthusiasm for transitioning into acting has been clear. Though this is his first major film role, the country hitmaker previously appeared on the CBS drama Fire Country and says he loves the creative challenge of acting. While he jokes that his character will often be on phone calls or Facetime in the film, he’s also serious about doing the role justice.

Off set, Brown’s personal life has included some bold choices — including splurging on a Lamborghini Convertible Spyder. The purchase came after Brown said he’d been investing financially and wanted to reward himself, even though he admits the car is a tight fit for someone over six feet tall. After a few months, his excitement mellowed and he invested further into the vehicle — a light-hearted moment among his otherwise serious creative ambitions.

Musically, Brown is also riding high. His recent single “Backseat Driver” — a heartfelt track about fatherhood featured on his 2025 album The High Road — is climbing the country charts and has become one of his most personal hits to date. Brown also teased that upcoming material will bring back the essence of his earlier sound “with a twist,” signaling fans should expect fresh new music soon.

Beyond movies and personal purchases, Brown continues his creative expansion. He and his wife Katelyn Brown are executive producers on the upcoming Lifetime holiday film Thank God: Christmas at Keller Ranch, inspired by their hit duet “Thank God.” That project honors the song’s narrative of love and gratitude, reinforcing Brown’s artistic reach outside of touring and recording.

Whether he’s in the studio, on set in Italy, or behind the wheel of a sleek supercar, Kane Brown is clearly embracing a multi-faceted phase of his career, blending tradition with new creative ventures that affirm his place as a versatile figure in country music and beyond.
