Introduction:
Kane Brown on How His Wife Told Him She’s Pregnant & His Crazy Vasectomy Story
Country star Kane Brown is giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at a major moment in his personal life — how he found out his wife, Katelyn Brown, was pregnant with their third child, and the hilariously unexpected experience that followed when he got a vasectomy.
Brown, 30, and Katelyn, 31, already share two daughters — Kingsley Rose and Kodi Jane — and the couple was surprised to learn they were expecting baby No. 3 together late in 2023. The news came in an unusual way: Kane was boarding a private jet when Katelyn called him and said, “I think I’m pregnant,” before the call suddenly cut out mid-takeoff.
“I was on my way to play golf for my birthday and she called just as we were taking off,” Brown recounted during a recent appearance on The Bobby Bones Show. “The whole flight down I’m thinking, ‘Oh my God, what’s going on?’ I honestly hoped she was wrong.”
Once they confirmed the pregnancy, the couple learned they were having a boy — their first son — and Brown embraced the news, jokingly calling it “God’s plan.”
But the surprises didn’t stop there. After the excitement of expanding their family, Katelyn encouraged Kane to get a vasectomy to make sure they wouldn’t have any more unplanned pregnancies. Brown initially resisted, admitting the thought made his stomach turn. “Every time she mentioned it, I’d get sick,” he joked.
When he finally went through with the procedure, he described the experience as “weird” and unexpectedly funny. “They gave me gas, and I’m lying there with a nurse and a doctor just talking about their day while I’m on the table,” Brown said, laughing at the memory. “I wasn’t out of it — just sky high — and they’re having this normal conversation.”
Brown also recalled the surreal feeling of being on the operating table, fully conscious and “spread eagle,” cracking jokes with the medical staff. While he admitted it was an unusual moment, he said it “didn’t hurt,” and now serves as one of his most memorable stories.
The Browns announced their baby news publicly with a sweet Instagram post at the end of 2023, featuring a sonogram held by their daughters and captions celebrating the family’s upcoming addition.
Their son, Krewe Allen Brown, was later welcomed into the world in June 2024, rounding out the family of five.
What could have been an ordinary chapter in family life instead became one filled with unexpected twists — from a mid-flight pregnancy announcement to a hilariously memorable medical procedure — giving fans a heartfelt and humorous glimpse at the personal side of one of country music’s most popular stars.
