Kellie Pickler’s Husband Kyle Jacobs’ Cause of Death Revealed

Autopsy Confirms Kellie Pickler's Husband Kyle Jacobs' Cause of Death as Suicide

The cause of death for Kyle Jacobs, husband of country singer Kellie Pickler, has been confirmed. A spokesperson for the Davidson County Medical Examiner revealed that Kyle tragically died by suicide on February 17, 2023, at the age of 49. This confirmation comes from an autopsy report obtained by Taste of Country, which noted that toxicology results showed no drugs in Jacobs’ system at the time of his death. However, it was reported that he had a history of pseudoseizures, gastrointestinal bleeding, elevated liver enzymes, and chronic alcohol use.

The Nashville Police Department responded to a call from Kellie Pickler and her assistant when they were unable to locate Kyle. They discovered the situation after failing to open a door to an upstairs room in their Tennessee home. The heartbreaking event occurred on the morning of February 17.

Kyle Jacobs and Kellie Pickler, who had been married since 2011, first met during their time in Nashville. They married in a private ceremony in the Caribbean, and their life together was documented on the CMT reality series I Love Kellie Pickler, which aired from 2015 to 2017. In a 2017 interview, Kyle reflected on the show, sharing how the couple made an effort to remain authentic and real, adding, “We just do everything we can just to be real. We love laughing through life.”

Although Kellie has yet to publicly comment on her husband’s death, many of their country music peers have paid tribute to Kyle. Lee Brice, who collaborated with Jacobs on the song “Save the Roses,” shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing his gratitude for having Kyle in his life. Brice wrote, “He was without a doubt one of the best people anyone could ever hope to have in their corner.”
