Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn Leaves Stage Mid-Show, Raises Health Concerns
Ronnie Dunn, the lead vocalist of the legendary country duo Brooks & Dunn, sparked concern among fans when he unexpectedly left the stage during a performance at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on April 3, 2025.
During the encore performance of their hit song “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” Dunn stopped mid-performance, waved to the audience, and exited the stage without explanation, leaving many in the crowd worried about his health.
Just weeks earlier, in March, Dunn had revealed he was battling a serious combination of strep throat and COVID-19, which he humorously referred to as “strovid.” Despite his health issues, he continued to perform as part of the group’s ongoing “Neon Moon” tour.
At a recent show in RodeoHouston, Dunn and fellow bandmate Kix Brooks performed in front of a crowd of over 70,000 fans. Though their vocals were noticeably strained, their dedication to entertaining the audience was clear and commendable.
Following the incident in Indianapolis, fans flooded social media with messages of support and well-wishes for Dunn, expressing deep concern for his wellbeing. As of now, he remains scheduled to appear in upcoming tour dates, including a show in Iowa on April 24.
In the midst of health challenges, Brooks & Dunn also recently released a new album titled Reboot II. The record features reimagined versions of their greatest hits, with guest appearances from a range of contemporary artists. It has been warmly received by fans and is set to be promoted further throughout the tour.
Despite recent health setbacks, Ronnie Dunn continues to show remarkable resilience. With strong fan support and his unwavering commitment to music, he and Brooks & Dunn remain a powerful force in the country music scene.
