Kane Brown on David Yurman, Tour Mishaps, and His Personal Tattoos
In a recent interview, Kane Brown opened up about his partnership with jewelry brand David Yurman, a dangerous moment on stage, and the personal meanings behind his tattoos.
From Fan to Brand Ambassador
Brown, who has long been a fan of David Yurman, was excited to become a model for the brand. He explained that these types of partnerships can happen in two ways: either a brand notices you already wearing their products and reaches out, or, like with his golf apparel brand, you reach out to them. Since moving to Nashville, he’s become a regular at the local David Yurman store, which led to a natural collaboration.
Speaking of collaborations, Brown is also a big fan of golf and has a partnership with Puma Cobra. As a new but enthusiastic golfer, he loves getting free gear and joked about having multiple sets of clubs, including a surplus of left-handed clubs that he offered to the interviewer.
A Strong Stance Against Throwing Objects on Stage
The conversation took a serious turn when the topic of fans throwing items on stage came up. Brown shared a story about a fan who tossed a boot at him to be signed. While he knew it wasn’t malicious, he still got hit in a sensitive area. He also recalled a terrifying incident early in his career when a fan threw a full, unopened beer can at him. He caught it, but realized it was thrown with the intent to harm.
Brown urged fans to stop throwing things on stage, emphasizing that it’s dangerous for artists and can lead to people getting hurt. He pointed out that there’s a big difference between a fan trying to give you something and someone trying to harm you.
A Look Into His Private World
When asked about his tattoos, Brown admitted that he regrets most of them, saying he sometimes wonders what it would be like to be a “clean-cut guy.” However, he also acknowledged that his unique look, which he says made him stand out and look “like a rapper to a lot of people,” was a big part of his success.
Brown also discussed his passion for being a dad. He said his kids are getting to an age where they can truly play with him, and he loves having real conversations with them. He also opened up about the controversy surrounding a recent headline that claimed he was quitting music. He clarified that he simply said he was taking some time off touring to spend with his family in Florida.
Finally, Brown revealed that he has new music on the way, including a song called “Be a Boy,” which he says is about growing up too fast and missing out on being a kid. It’s a personal song that many people, including the interviewer, can relate to.
