Kane and Katelyn Brown on Their CMA Nomination and Performing Together
Country music power couple Kane and Katelyn Brown recently spoke about their CMA nomination and their upcoming performance at the awards show. The couple expressed a mix of nerves and excitement as they prepare to share the stage.
A Shared Journey
For Katelyn, the experience is a “completely wild” departure from her usual role of simply watching Kane at awards shows. This time, she’s a nominee herself, and the thought of performing with her husband is both thrilling and “terrifying.” Kane, on the other hand, finds immense joy in watching his wife on stage. “I just look at her the whole time basically,” he said, adding that her excitement reminds him of his own early career days. They’ve been performing the song together at Kane’s shows every night, which has helped them feel more comfortable and ready for the big night.
Celebrating Milestones and Family
The couple is also excited for their children to see Katelyn perform on television for the first time. They noted that since the CMT Awards are in Austin this year and not their usual Nashville location, they’ll be “forced to go out” and have a celebratory date night—hopefully toasting to a win.
The interview also touched on their song hitting number one, a success that Katelyn admitted she was “absolutely” surprised by. Both artists appeared genuinely grateful and excited for the milestones they are achieving together, both in their careers and as a family.
