Introduction:
Jason Aldean Explains Why a Kane Brown Collaboration Hasn’t Happened Yet
Jason Aldean has enjoyed high-profile collaborations throughout his career, teaming up with the likes of Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, and even Bob Seger for CMT Crossroads. But one duet fans have been waiting on — with Kane Brown — hasn’t materialized just yet.
Speaking with Audacy’s Katie Neal, Aldean revealed that Brown has reached out several times about working together. “Kane’s reached out to me a couple times about doing something, and I’ve told him before that I’d love to do something with him,” Aldean explained. “To me, those things are always about the song. And obviously, Kane’s music and my music is really, really different, you know what I mean?”
The challenge, Aldean says, comes down to finding the right track that works for both of their styles. “When he sends a song to me, sometimes it’s just not really what I would normally do. And so I’ve always kind of told him it’s like, it’s about finding the right song, but I would love to do something with him. I think it’ll happen at some point when the right thing comes along. And we just kind of haven’t found that yet.”
For now, fans can look back to a memorable live moment between the two stars. While no official duet has been recorded, Aldean and Brown did team up on stage at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena for a crowd-pleasing rendition of Aldean’s hit Dirt Road Anthem.
Although a studio collaboration is still on hold, Aldean insists the door remains open. “Kane likes to put me on blast,” he joked, but reassured fans that he’s more than willing once the perfect song comes along.
