Kane Brown to Make Feature Film Debut in The Token Groomsman

Country superstar Kane Brown is headed to the big screen. The multi-platinum artist will make his feature film debut in the romantic comedy The Token Groomsman, starring alongside Taylor Lautner.

Brown takes on the role of Neil, the loyal best friend and moral compass to Lautner’s character, Scott. Across a chaotic weekend, Neil provides both guidance and comic relief as Scott finds himself torn between chasing money or love.

“We knew we needed bold, lovable personalities to match the heart and humor of this story,” said director Natalie Simpkins. “Kane brings something so unique. He has a rare mix of vulnerability and magnetism that’s incredibly compelling.”

Simpkins, who also co-wrote the screenplay with John C. Hall and Sohale Andrus Mortazavi, will direct the film. She joins Hall and Pam Renall as producers.

Production is set to begin later this year, with plans for a wide U.S. release in more than 2,500 theaters.

“The Token Groomsman is exactly the kind of sharp, commercial comedy we believe can bring audiences together,” said John Fithian, founding partner of The Fithian Group. “We’re excited to shape a strong release strategy with an experienced team and innovative digital tools.”

Radiant will handle international representation. “Natalie Simpkins’ fresh, modern take on romcoms makes this film a perfect fit,” said Mimi Steinbauer, president of Radiant. “With its mix of humor, heart, and star power, it’s set to resonate with audiences worldwide.”
