Introduction:
A matter of months after hinting at moving away from country music on Logan Paul’s *Impaulsive* podcast, Kane Brown has taken to Instagram to tease what could be his boldest move yet — a full EDM-inspired EP.
On his Instagram Stories, Brown mused, *“Weird thought of doing an edm ep”*, before confirming that his new track, *“Unspoken”*, *“should be released this week.”*
While the announcement may ruffle feathers among country purists, the idea isn’t surprising. Brown has consistently pushed genre boundaries throughout his career, collaborating with artists such as Khalid, Swae Lee, Marshmello, and John Legend. His 2024 smash hit, *“Miles On It”*, a soaring EDM collaboration with Marshmello, proved just how comfortable he is outside the confines of country. That track followed their earlier hit, *“One Thing Right”*, which remains a fan favorite.
If *“Unspoken”* drops on October 3rd, it will mark Brown’s first new release since June’s upbeat single, *“2 Pair.”* The timing also ensures that momentum stays strong following the release of his widely praised fourth studio album, *The High Road*, earlier this year. That record delivered fan favorites including *“Fiddle in the Band”*, *“Rescue”*, *“Body Talk”*, and *“Things We Quit.”*
Despite his EDM flirtation, it’s unlikely Kane Brown will fully abandon country music. He has often expressed how deeply he loves the genre, even as he experiments with new sounds. Still, the possibility of a dedicated EDM-leaning project suggests that fans can expect an exciting blend of country, hip hop, and dance influences in the near future.
Given his track record of seamless cross-genre collaborations, this next era of Kane Brown promises to be one worth watching — and dancing to.
