Kane Brown Celebrates No.1 Single and Prepares New Summer Anthem
It’s a sunny Monday in Nashville, and Kane Brown is celebrating his seventh No.1 single, “One Mississippi,” with a rooftop party at the BMI Building on Music Row. As guests arrive and vendors prepare Mexican cuisine, the platinum-selling artist mingles with his team and co-writers, marking a big week that also includes the upcoming release of his new single, “Like I Love Country Music,” and his first-ever stadium show in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
During a sit-down with Country Now, Kane reflected on the song’s origins. He co-wrote it in 2019 during a writer’s retreat with Jordan Schmidt, Taylor Phillips, and Matt McGinn. Initially skeptical about the track, Kane soon found himself drawn in as the song “just wrote itself” and blended perfectly. They recorded and mastered the demo, intending to include it on 2020’s Mixtape Vol. 1, but Kane admits he temporarily “fell out of love” with it.
Earlier this year, while on tour, Kane rediscovered the demo and fell in love again. Returning to the studio, he re-recorded the song, enhancing the vocals and making the track even stronger. Influenced by ‘90s country, the song pays homage to legendary artists like Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Johnny Cash, and June Carter Cash.
The upbeat melody and playful lyrics, including lines like “Baby, I love you like I love country music,” have already inspired fans to dance along. Kane even shared a fun teaser of the track featuring a kitchen dance party with his eldest daughter, Kingsley.
With its lively rhythm and heartfelt nods to country classics, “Like I Love Country Music” is poised to become a summer anthem, showcasing Kane Brown’s enduring connection to the genre while highlighting his personal life and family ties.
