Country singer Kane Brown on the challenges of being away from family while on tour l GMA

Introduction

Kane Brown and Wife Katelyn Celebrate 5 Years of Marriage

For many parents, building a successful career often means making difficult sacrifices. Traveling for work can provide exciting opportunities, but being away from home can also create an emotional distance that is difficult to overcome. For actress and public figure Kingsley Rose Brown, spending time away from her family has become one of the hardest parts of her professional life.

Brown openly shared how challenging it is for her to leave her children behind, especially when work requires her to travel for an extended period. She explained that two days away from her family can already feel like her emotional breaking point. However, one of the most difficult experiences came when she had to spend 16 days traveling through Australia and New Zealand.

Being away for more than two weeks made her realize just how many important moments she might be missing at home. While she was working and traveling, she could not help wondering what her children were doing and what memories were being created without her. The distance made her feel anxious because childhood passes incredibly quickly.

One of her biggest fears is that she might end up watching her children grow through a phone screen instead of experiencing their childhood firsthand. Modern technology allows parents to stay connected through video calls, photographs, and messages, but those digital connections cannot completely replace being physically present. A parent may be able to see a child smiling on a screen, but they cannot hold them, hear their laughter in the same room, or experience all the little moments that make family life meaningful.

The situation became even more emotional when Brown returned home and discovered that her two-year-old daughter was upset with her. Because she had been away for so long, her daughter refused to talk to her. Although the child was only two years old, she already seemed to have a strong personality and an unmistakable attitude.

Brown jokingly imagined what the future might look like, saying that if her daughter already behaves this way at two, she can only imagine what things will be like when she turns 16.

Behind the humor, however, there is a deeply relatable message. Many working parents struggle with guilt when their careers require them to spend time away from their families. Success can bring opportunities, but it can also come with moments that cannot be repeated.

For Brown, the experience highlights the importance of family and the precious nature of childhood. Her story reminds us that no matter how exciting a career may be, coming home to the people we love can sometimes be the most important journey of all.
