Introduction

Kane Brown has never been shy about showing off his tattoos, and over the years, his collection has become almost as recognizable as his music. From meaningful Bible verses to symbols representing his family, dreams, and personal fears, many of Brown’s tattoos tell a story. But one of his most eye-catching pieces came about in a surprisingly casual way: a tattoo party with fellow country star Jason Aldean.
When Aldean invited Brown over for an informal tattoo session, Brown did not need much convincing. He already had plenty of ink and was looking for something to fill an open space on his sleeve. His solution was simple: a fierce-looking gorilla. Rather than choosing the design because it carried a profound personal message, Brown admitted that he had reached a point where he was comfortable getting tattoos simply because he liked them. The gorilla was essentially the perfect way to fill the space.
The session became even more memorable when Aldean decided to put his own tattooing skills to the test. He picked up the tattoo machine and worked on Brown’s new piece while joking around and receiving a few instructions along the way. The result was a hilarious country-music tattoo story involving two friends, plenty of laughter, and a surprisingly permanent souvenir.
Although the gorilla may not have a deep meaning, many of Brown’s other tattoos are deeply personal. His first tattoo was a John 3:16 Bible verse, which he received at age 18. Raised in a Christian household, Brown grew up attending church regularly, making the verse a natural choice for his first piece of ink.

He also has a Chinese symbol representing love on his neck, which matches a tattoo his mother got. During his days working at FedEx before his music career took off, Brown got a microphone and guitar tattooed on his forearm as a reminder to pursue his musical ambitions. Another tattoo pays tribute to his home state of Georgia.
Brown even turned one of his fears into motivation. Because he is afraid of snakes, he has a snake tattoo that serves as a reminder to confront and overcome his fears. A wolf on his left forearm represents the bond between him and his tour manager, symbolizing their loyalty as part of a wolf pack.
Perhaps his most striking tattoos are the large wings covering his shoulders and biceps. Brown has explained that he always wanted angel wings, so he decided there was no reason to wait.
For Brown, tattoos are more than decoration. Some preserve faith, family, dreams, and personal memories, while others are simply there because they look cool. And sometimes, apparently, a gorilla is all the explanation you need.
